Killed by the explosion of a remote-controlled terrorist bomb hidden in a ditch, while on search patrol with a colleague.
Police Memorial Tribute
William’s colleague, Constable David Leslie McBride, and a British Army soldier were also killed by the bomb that was hidden in a ditch at Milltown Bridge, near Crossmaglen, County Armagh.
