Shot and fatally wounded while on duty at a security barrier in Newry town centre. Posthumously awarded the Queen's Police Medal for Gallantry.
Police Memorial Tribute
At the time of the shooting, Constable Houston was attempting to arrest one of three suspected terrorists who were planning a bomb attack on The Stables Bar, Water Street, Newry, County Down.
Samuel was posthumously awarded the Queen’s Police Medal for Gallantry.
