Died in Salford Royal Hospital after being found badly mutilated on the track at Pendleton. It is believed he was knocked down by a loose coal wagon.
Police Memorial Tribute
Died in Salford Royal Hospital an hour after being found badly mutilated on the track at Brindle Heath sidings, Pendleton, where he had been on duty. Earlier, two coal wagons had detached from a goods train entering the sidings and it is believed the officer was knocked down by one of these wagons.
