Shot and killed alongside a colleague when their three-man patrol, based in Innishannon, was ambushed by terrorists in Ballinspittal, County Cork.
Police Memorial Tribute
His colleague, Sergeant Cornelius Crean, was also killed in the ambush at Upton Industrial School in Ballinspittal, a village mid-way between Kinsale and Bandon, County Cork.
