Fatally injured when he was struck by an HGV while assisting a motorist on the hard shoulder of the M1.
Police Memorial Tribute
PC Goodlad was fatally injured while assisting a female motorist with her broken down car, on the hard shoulder of the M1 Motorway near Wakefield.
He was standing between his marked police vehicle and the woman’s car when a Heavy Goods Vehicle struck both vehicles.
Mark, a former Special Constable, was a Motorway Patrol Roads Policing Officer with ten years’ service and had previously been seriously injured in the line of duty in 2009.
He is survived by his wife and son.
