Killed when he was deliberately rammed on his police motorbike while trying to stop a stolen car.
Police Memorial Tribute
Killed while on routine motorcycle patrol when he was deliberately rammed as he attempted to stop a stolen car that had driven through a red light at Perry Barr. The officer’s motorcycle was struck with such force that it was thrown over railings causing him multiple and fatal injuries.
PC Walker had 21 years service with the Force as a beat officer, a detective and an expert on car crime with the Force Vehicle Crime Unit before joining the Traffic Department at Sutton Coldfield in 1996.
He had been commended four times by the Chief Constable and is survived by his wife, three daughters and a son.
