Roll of Honour Citation
Died six days after he was involved in a road accident on Stamfordham Road, Newcastle, as he travelled home from duty on his motorbike.
Police Memorial Tribute
In the early hours of 29th June 1981, PC 3168 Cavagin was travelling home from duty on his motorcycle when, on Stamfordham Road, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, he was struck head-on by a taxi that was overtaking another taxi. He died six days later, on 5th July 1981, as a result of his catastrophic injuries.
He was survived by his wife and young daughter, his parents and his four siblings.
