Killed when the passenger train on which he was travelling was in collision with a train carrying ballast at Billing.
Police Memorial Tribute
Superintendent Poole was returning from the Quarter Sessions at Northampton with two colleagues, PC Thomas Barrett who died from his injuries the following day and PS Isaac Wilson who died on 14th November.
