Roll of Honour Citation
Shot dead in Market Square in Kilrush, County Clare, as he and another officer returning to their barracks were confronted by terrorist gunmen. Posthumously awarded the Constabulary Medal for Gallantry.
Police Memorial Tribute
The gunmen had earlier fired on the convent, mistakenly believing it to be the RIC barracks.
