Died in the Central Military Hospital within Victoria Barracks in Cork, five weeks after being shot by terrorists.
Police Memorial Tribute
While off duty walking, on 21st November 1920, Constable Rea was shot by the occupants of a passing car and died from his wounds on 27th December.
