Roll of Honour Citation
Died from the injuries he sustained three days earlier when Manchester Division HQ in East Union Street, Old Trafford, was demolished by a high-explosive bomb.
Police Memorial Tribute
PC Steen was posthumously awarded a King’s Commendation for Brave Conduct.
Five officers were killed in the early-morning raid on 23rd December and another died from his injuries on 1st January 1941.
