Killed while responding to an emergency call when the fire engine in which he was a passenger plunged over the parapet of Wellington Bridge.
Police Memorial Tribute
Superintendent Beckwith and other police firemen were responding from Mersey Square fire station in Stockport when the fire engine left the road and plunged over the parapet.
