Died in Glasgow, fourteen months after he was shot in Edenderry, County Offaly, just before the midday cease-fire for the War for Independence.
Police Memorial Tribute
Died in Glasgow, fourteen months after he was ambushed and shot eight times in the back while unarmed, on the Main Street in Edenderry, County Offaly, just two minutes before the midday cease-fire for the War for Independence on the 11th of July 1921. The last bullet severed his spinal cord rendering him a paraplegic until his death.
