Gareth Browning

Died as a consequence of the catastrophic injuries he sustained on 30th November 2013 after being struck by a speeding stolen car that he was attempting to stop by deploying a stinger in Shinfield Road, Reading. The driver, who had been in a high-speed pursuit with officers, was on day release from HMP Spring Hill. He fled the scene and was arrested days later. PC Browning was placed into a medically induced coma for several weeks but was left with physical disabilities and severe brain injuries, resulting in him needing constant care. His injuries meant he had to retire on medical grounds.
