Died at the scene from the injuries she sustained when, after being called to reports of a burglary in Mottram, which transpired to be a hoax, she and her colleague, PC Nicola Hughes, who died in hospital later that day, were, without warning, attacked by a man using a grenade and discharging a firearm at both officers.
