Roll of Honour Citation
Died the day after being fatally wounded when his ten-man patrol was attacked by terrorists on Main Street, Midleton, County Cork.
Police Memorial Tribute
Constable Ernest Cecil Dray died of his wounds on 31st December and Special Constable Martin Mullen was killed near the village of Ballyrichard, County Cork, in a second ambush on 29th December, after being sent with other officers as reinforcements, following the original attack.
