Killed alongside three other Constables when their eight-man foot patrol was ambushed by terrorists at Kilcommon, Newport District.
Police Memorial Tribute
Constables Patrick J. Halford, Ernest F. Harden and Albert H. Palmer were also killed during the ambush and another Constable was seriously wounded.
